Thomas J. Watson Fellowship

Brian Hockaday (Sci Tech 2002), who will graduate from Colorado College in May, has been awarded a Watson Fellowship to study abroad for one year. His topic of study is:
The Sum of Us: Sexual Identity and Gay Communities in the New Urban World. He plans to visit South Korea, Vietnam, India, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil to conduct his research.
After graduating from Sci Tech in 2002, Brian spent a year traveling through South America honing his Spanish language skills and learning about the countries before matriculating at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He studied ethnobotany and has spent time studying coffee plantations in Costa Rica.
