First steps to ILL from libraries other than those in STISD
- Biblioteca Las Americas offers interlibrary loan services to students and staff to support the STISD curriculum by providing research materials beyond the scope of the school library collection.
- Please check BLA resources first. Ask for assistance to locate additional BLA resources.
- Complete an ILL
form. Download here or get one at the circulation desk if you have a citation for an item
that BLA does not have or that is checked out. A patron must clear fines
before using ILL.
- You may search ILL institution catalogs for further resources.
- It usually takes three to ten business days to receive the materials.
- The customary loan period is one month. The lending libraries generally do not allow renewals.
- We request that you borrow no more than five items at a time through ILL. After returning one or more items, you may borrow additional materials.
- There is no charge for ILL services.

- At the right drop-down scoping menu, choose All Libraries instead of Biblioteca Las Americas.
- The blue box below verifies that you will be searching the Texas Union Catalog.
- Enter search term(s) and Search.
- After locating an item that you wish to borrow, choose Format to Print.
- Attach the printout to an ILL request form, and submit it to the staff at the circulation desk.
